Why I didn't think of the automatic was my deceased friend hated hers (it belonged to hubby) as she felt she had no control over it.
So she warned me never to buy one.
Having said that an automatic would do me nicely (if I could control it) - as I am finding it extremely painful to use the gear stick because of broken shoulder over the years probably now has rheumatism
So yes I may look into an automatic
So is it easy to drive after driving gear stick for 40 years now
My neighbour has an automatic and so I may ask her to let me have a go in a secluded car park

A few of the many reasons to drive a manual rather than an automatic are; being in the correct gear for the road conditions, the car not changing down the gears when you want to accelerate (saving fuel), no energy lost in a torque converter – although I would admit, automatics are much improved from the days of only having three gears.
