Car alarm going off all hours

My neighbours van alarm goes off at least 20 times during the day and night. The night times ones are awful. Quite often waking my kids.

I have mentioned it to him and he just shrugged. Please help. After 3 weeks of disturbed sleep, i am going crazy. I feel like damaging the van as no one comes out anyway when the alarm goes off!

I am debating phoning the firm on the van. Is there anything the police can do? Any tips. Thankx

Give environmental health a call. This has to be classed as noise nuisence(sp). If it were a stereo they can confiscate it. I'm sure they will be happy to help.

Agree with scooby. The cops won't do anything if the van isn't being 'stolen'. Environmental Health is your best bet. Number will be in the phone book under your local council.

I put up with a house alarm for weeks until i rang the council - they were great and sorted it out within hours.

I just find it remarkable that this doesn't also annoy the neighbour as well, I mean if it was me I'd disable the alarm, it'd drive me mental. It's like people who have continually barking dog, I just don't get it, I mean surely it must pi55 them off just as much as the neighbours, Unless they're mutton I suppose!

Phone the owner or knock on his door everytime it goes off to tell him, he'll soon get fed up with that! Don't just mention it to him, demand that it stop and make yourself a nusiance.

call the council straight away and nip it in the bud before you do something silly like set light to the van.
