Car Insurance Again

I've just called Saga to see if they can improve on my renewal quote, which they couldn't and just encouraged me to shop around. The operator was very apologetic and seemed resigned to cancelling policies and explaining how to move elsewhere. Quite surprised really. Anyway....

I've checked All the comparison websites I can think of plus Aviva and Direct Line. The most competitive prices are with companies I've never heard of so a bit weary. Anyone any other tips before I make a decision?
