I never actually did the theory test so I don't know much about the difficulty but I reckon I'd not take this many goes!

The theory test is basically common sense and a video hazard response test. 

My first practical test included reversing around a corner inches from the pavement, but who needs to do it quite that accurately? Just don't hit the kerb or another car or person.

Now, if they'd finished with the parallel parking, too, before I might have passed two tests before :)

I still can't do it 27 years later.

parallel parking was not in my test in 1982,  that was introduced in 1996 and as far as I know it's still in it.
