Help with Tom Tom

I recently bought a Tom Tom One which is working fine - but how do I cancel a destination? Is the only way to switch off and back on?

Go into menu,click blue arrow twice you will see at top right clear route with cross over it press this symbol and route should be cleared

Thanks - don't know how I missed this option. Pity the so-called instruction book is not more informative!
