ive bought an r reg (1998) 2 ltr 16v vauxhall omega. now i have no manual with it and there a few questions i need some help with.. firstly i have no heating. i have changed fuses and this is not the cause. i also dont know the code for the stereo.(original tape player!) the clock panel also does not work. i need to know if there is sny one out there willing to give me any advice? please help and thanks in advance to those who do xx

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Heater not working. There are a few things that could cause this. The most common problem is a faulty rheostat switch that sits on top of the fan motor.
No radio code. If you know the name of the original Vauxhall dealer that sold the car when it was brand new there is a good chance they will have the radio code on file.
If you dont have that info you will have to go to your local Vauxhall dealer and they can apply to get your original code, generally this takes 24-48 hours and costs about �20.
Alternatively you could take it to an auto electrician who can re-code your radio, they usually charge �30-�40,
When you say clock panel not working do you mean the time clock or the instrument cluster? It may be just a case of changing the bulbs which if it is the instrument cluster is quite labour intensive and subsequently expensive.
