Vauxhall Meriva

Hi!
We are unexpectedly in the process of getting a new car (some nice man wrote our old one off!) and have seen a 2004 1.6 Vauxhall Meriva and was just wondering if anyone could help me in working out how much the road tax will be from next year, as we know it is going to shoot up!

I know naff all about cars and would be greatful for any help.

a bit more expensive

apparantly the 1.6 petrol is not very economical - as most fuel stats are well out,
i heard someone had 1 for a short time then got a diesel version instead,
but if you don't do many miles then the choice is up to you .

it doesnt realy matter what engine you go for at the moment cos if u go for the diesel ok you get cheaper tax but look how much diesel costs u over the year, just buy a car that suits u and your needs ,dont buy a 4x4 or any engine above 2.0 . but at the moment the mariva 1.3 cdti is suppost to be the nuts cheap tax low emmisions and v good fuel economy, but for me it drives like the corsa, and for the same sorta money u could get a new shape zafira look good drive good got the flexabilaty and the fuel consumption isnt that bad
