Does anyone know where the 'Crank Sensor' is located on the Vauxhall Corsa LS 1196cc 1993.

My car broke down, after initial testing of plugs, coil block, fuses ect, a machnic advised that the problem is pointing at the sensor.

I have purchased the new part, ''but jiggery me'' where on earth is it. ( I had it jacked up with no luck)

My car manual only makes a reference to it and yet doesn't outline its position.

Would appreciate any help here.

either the front of the crank around the timing cover area or the rear where the bell housing bolts up, depends on the exact engine and year.
it picks up signal from a pulse generator (vauxhalls terminology) which can only be located at either end of the crank
I think it will be rear of engine bolted on just above the offside driveshaft where it goes into the gearbox, (may be held in with a torque bolt)
Dougie is correct. Difficult to reach.
On a ramp or axle stands. High up behind engine bellhousing.
Quite a while since I had one out on a Corsa ..
Small allen bolt I think.
Some have a cam position sensor at other end top of timing covers.
If crank sensor goes, engine will still run, but rough on throttle.
