Regarding dentists: my annual checkup was delayed because of the lockdown. A week after my dentist opened his doors again, he asked me to go for my delayed checkup, which was about 6 weeks late. I am a private patient, and my wallet was made lighter by £139.95. My wife is a patient at the same practice, and her annual checkup was also delayed. She is still waiting for a new appointment. She is an NHS patient. Money talks.
Absolutely agree, teacake.
All these individuals who are insisting they are just as productive working at home obviously don't have to contact anybody themselves. Every you have dealings with is the same: "We're here to help you through the pandemic [as if they could even if they wanted to] but unfortunately we've nobody to answer your phone calls, nobody to deal with your online enquiries and don't you DARE come near any of our staff or expect any of them to come near you."
It's beyond a joke. This has been going on for the thick end of six months and there seems no indication that companies are making arrangements under what they quaintly call the "new normal". The new normal seems to be companies cutting their costs on the pretext that they are coping with an "unprecedented situation" and the result is crappy service for their customers.

teacake, I agree with you 100% on this. Sick to death of all the ads on radio seemingly every five minutes from some do-gooder telling us to wash our hands, wear our masks, keep our distance etc etc etc. Sick of not being able to get into my dentist, sick of being held up forever in building society because most of the staff are 'working from home', sick of having to wear a mask every time I go shopping (not that I conform all the time anyway) and lastly sick and tired of all the different edicts coming out of the Government on a regular basis, although I admit, I sometimes feel sorry for Boris in these unprecedented times! Oh for normality once again.
