Glastonbury mudbath
Just seen the pictures, I wouldn't go there if you paid me! Yes I am old and I wouldnt have gone when I was a teenager either. Cannot see the pleasure in it at all. Give me proper facilities and comfort any day.

Parties, dinner parties and more [email protected] a drop of mud in sight..flower people? wasters that you watched on TV. Deodorants aftershave, baths or showers were the order of the day.
Billy Haley and the Comets at a party, Adam Faith (Someone elsie's baby) pyjama parties.......all by special invitation.

I did all the things you mentioned too Squad, plus the flower power things too. So I mixed with all sorts from the landed gentry to the 'wasters'. Had some very rich boyfriends, but didn't marry one. Partied at Woburn Abbey with a champagne breakfasts at 6.00am.
Variety is the spice of life!!
Adored Adam Faith when I was 15, progressed to The Stones, Yardbirds etc when I hit my late teens.
(Pyjama parties were fun - I remember wearing Baby Dolls!!)
xxx Love you really!!

I like the idea of glastonbury but I dislike camping, I don't like being dirty and I don't peeing (or worse) in something that doesn't have an appropriate flush. I can do it if I have to, I camped in the australian outpack in the middle of a heat wave on new years eve but I don't really see the pleasure in that aspect of it. I never have. But I like the idea of the vibe, lots of music etc... so one day when I'm really rich I'll probably get day passes and a hotel to stay in!
Always longed to go to Glasto. Went yesterday for first time, Avalon stage backstage loos, full to top and overflowing with mud or crap, couldnt tell the difference! Food in catering was congealed curry, I was working with the big furry creatures that Eavis didnt want. It was awesome, the roar from the crowd when they came on stage was insane. They expected 2000 in tent, but its estimated there were approx 4000+ I am knackered, but so glad I had the experience, so glad they played well, and nobody died in the hot costumes. Now I gotta muster up some energy and get those creatures clean again.
Years back it would be Glatonbury now i think it would be one of these

Looks good Ordsall - I could manage a boat trip.
Lottie - I'm pleased you understand my choice regarding cruise or glasto, each to their own eh?
I'm not saying never and I could probably give a river cruise a go as a trial (the shore being slightly more accessible in the case of extreme claustiphobia). I hope you enjoy your holiday and get to see some interesting and otherwise hard to reach places. And if you're really lucky, maybe U2 will turn up on the last night in place of the cabaret!

Maidup, no cabaret. It's a river cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg next year. It'll be full of oldies like me and the entertainment seems to be Russian, as is the food. A chance for my OH to see the land of his parents. Only about 200 people on board and very low key. Lots of scenery and sites to view.
I've never been to Glasto but definitely want to in the next few years, we're thinking of going to Benicassim next year, practice the camping without so much mud! :)
For me it'd be more about the music, I'm not a big party fiend but really into my bands and watching the highlights just made me really jealous.
Hopefully not someone as dull as U2 headlining when I go though!!
