Just seen the pictures, I wouldn't go there if you paid me! Yes I am old and I wouldnt have gone when I was a teenager either. Cannot see the pleasure in it at all. Give me proper facilities and comfort any day.

its brilliant. Flooded when i went. But its all about the atmosphere and even mud doesnt ruin the vibe when you're there. The laid back people that attend dont let a bit of rain spoil it.
Get your wellies on dave! :0)
Just seen this! I would love to go my my arthritis wouldn't allow it. Up to about 5 years ago, I would have loved the opportunity, but now I realise it's too late.

Have been to lesser events and gigs, but just can't camp.

Mind you I wouldn't have been watching Beyonce last night!!
My sister went to the Latitude festival as her first one, in her mid fifties, and loved it.

She said imagine if Waitrose did festivals - that's what it was like.
It doesn`t appeal to me at all. Even if the weather was good. There are plenty of small festivals in my area these days and I can see U2 and others at other venues. I`d be scared to leave my tent in case someone nicked something. I`d never get any sleep because of everyone partying and if I got soaking wet I wouldn`t be able to dry out because I`d be staying in a tent. At best I`d go just for one day and leave that evening. I`m sure it`s great but it`s not my cup of tea. The thing that amazes me most is that some people love the mud and mess about in it. The rest of the year that field is a farm and they`re rolling around in mud, cow dung and cow`s urine. Lovely!
God, I would have LOVED to be there....mixing with the "great unwashed", smoking a joint with a long haired smelly, gaunt and shoddily dressed "happy camper" and finally going to an Elson toilet shared by other "wasters".

The cleanest part of Glastonbury is the mud.
Mud wouldn't have worried me - it would now. The loos would prove the worse problem for me. I can cope with mixing with shoddily dressed, gaunt, joint smoking people - no problem. And we would all be smelly anyway.
:0) sqad
I would love to have been in the Coldplay audience. I have always liked them but not raved about them, but the atmosphere was electric - I could have got drunk on it. Not the same sitting on the sofa watching on the box :o(
The loos are bearable although they get worse as time goes on. You have to take your own loo roll, a big bottle of water to wash your hands and and an industral sized pack of wet wipes!
I think I would just eat something that 'bunged me up' for three days and pee in the bushes.

I rest my case.
I went to the Live8 concert. It`s a very fine line between drinking enough water to hydrate but not so much that you want to go to the loo. I managed to do the day without using the loo. The problem is that you have to get past so many people to get to the loos it takes an age and it`s really hard to find your way back again (unless you`ve got someone near you with a big flag or something). There`s never any soap in the loos either. Peeing in the bushes is probably the easiest (if you`re a bloke, anyway)
After watching Beyonce last night, Sqad, my mind was rather dirty too!!!
Come on Sqaddy, you were young in the sixties, surely you got with the spirit of things - flower power, love fests and all that stuff!! ;o)
welshy...LOL...get back in your kennel.
Master LL says he uses the old style loos because everybody else avoids them and makes sure he uses them just after the morning clean. He hasn't been for a good few years though - his partner won't go and he won't take his mother!!!
Avoided Beyonce. Can't stand her music, but I can understand why Welsh was watching!!!
Sqad - if it does that to a 55 year old what the hell does it do for the younger blokes?? (Sorry that's sexist - should include girls as well)
Sorry if this is a silly question, but are there NO places to wash there, like baths or showers. If so does that mean that people there do not wash for 3 days.

I know that the toilets there are not brilliant.
