Not A Great Glastonbury

In my opinion, Lionel Richie is not a suitable artist to headline - too many ballads, not enough excitement. Lauren Lavern's inane banter with Mark Radcliffe on BBCTV has been dismal. As for the pretentious reporters hired perhaps for politically correct reasons.... Only good thing about Glasto for me this year is: I was quite a Paloma Faith fan and would happily have paid good money to see her in concert....but after watching her on tv here, I wouldn't bother....she was deeply disappointing. What did you think?

Glasto used to be an 'underground' non mainstream event with bands like Hawkwind. It's just a complete pastiche of what it was and a commercial sell out. I can't blame the Evisse's but the young have no idea of its origins and watered down integrity.

Agree to some extent...Paloma Faith disappointing, Kanye West .... oh AWFUL. But a group singalong with Lionel Ritchie to well known songs seems to be going down well...at least he can sing and his audience like him. Not my cup of tea but pleasant enough.

Yes .. Lionel .. he's a bit dated in my opinion .. though he seemed to get a good reception. Just watching him now. Is this a repeat? Looks like I totally missed it. I like Paloma Faith .. was it that bad?

Lionel Richie wasn't headlining though: he was the Sunday afternoon 'legends' spot
As for anyone else some acts don't come across well at open air venues and especially at open air venues covered on TV
There are lots of stages with lots of amazing performers : I don't think TV begins to do it justice and god forbid it would ever become a 'TV' event
