It appears to be foreign lyrics, the only bit I can make out is something that sounds like 'down down deppo woh oh oh'. This is the chorus and is repeated several times.

It is a male vocal, kind of folksy sounding...possibly from the sixties or seventies.

Please can anyone help!

No it is not a cover of Status Quo! It is a folksy sounding song, quite chipy, hippyish almost.

Possibly Spanish lyrics, heard on holiday but I also think I heard it on Vintage TV music channel a month or so back.

chorus sounds like 'down down deppo oh oh oh...down down deppo woh oh oh oh'.
I think I'm singing this in my head and I've absolutely no idea what it is. Not helpful I know.
This isn't the one in my head but go to Youtube and try Bailando by Enrique Inglesias, there is a Spanish and English version.

Nope, it is not Enrique Iglesias. It is most likely from the sixities or seventies and folk sounding.
Upside, inside out she's livin la vida loca ...

Do the lyrics include the words down down or foreign words that sound a bit like that?
Is it in a Gypsy Kings style?
Question Author
It is not Ricky Martin.

The lyrics sound something like 'down down deppo oh oh oh' it qually could be 'dam dam decko' 'don don detto' etc.

It is not in the style of Gipsy Kings. It is folk kind of style, hint of indie. Likely from the sixties or seventies.
Hi- judging by your usefr name Iguess you are pretty knowledgeable of music so it's unlikely to be a huge hit record.
Can you give an example of the type of singer you mean by folksy please- John Denver/ Donovan/Dylan/The Byrds/Mumford&Sons/Pentangle?
I know it's not foreign but every time I sing the 'down down deppo woh oh oh' I keep coming back to this.

Hi deejaybenj- have you had any further thoughts or got any more information for us? Maybe an example of a similar type of folksy artist would help as I'm not sure what you mean
I hope deejaybenj hasn't forgotten about this. I remembered the thread when I heard Status Quo on 6 Music today
