A new series of Marcella started this week, she is working undercover in Belfast, using an assumed name, trying to get evidence against a notorious and ruthless crime family - people smuggling, drugs. Watched 2 episodes (of 8) and am a little baffled. There are several (so far) unrelated stories - Marcella's bloke (the family's fiddling accountant) is shot and she doesn't flinch, someone (a lorry driver?) is beaten up, the Home secretary's son is murdered by the brother-in-law. The men (mostly) look and sound the same. Most puzzling of all the family know Marcella is a cop but still let her wander around the house, looking in safes and at files.

Not sure I'll stick with it.

I also binge watched. Stuff and nonsense, but quite enjoyable stuff and nonsense. The reason why she doesn't flinch when her partner is shot becomes clear - i thought it was clear by episode 2? The family believe she is a disgraced cop, her bogus history easily accessible for them to check. The murdered guy being the Home Sec's son is purely coincidental. The...

I binge watched it one night when I couldn’t sleep.
Quit now!
Haven't watched any of this. Is it worth going back to the first Series and catching up?

The men may sound the same because they are all from the same neck of the woods. As for all looking the same, i suggest a trip to Specsavers :-))
Maggie, yes the first 2 series were also quite good. And you will also understand this 3rd series better.
Thanks Ken, will add to the list.
I binged S3 over 2 nights and enjoyed it. It can be a bit confusing but usually get confused with the blackout scenes.
I agree. It's like Midsomer murders meets Peaky Blinders!!

Ken, thanks for the comments. One more question. Was the lad in hospital with the injured leg the same one who appeared to have been shot in the stomach. If I go that wrong then I really will have to try something a little less demanding.
Same lad. He wasn't shot in the stomach, drm. The Irish underworld like to torture their enemies by kneecapping. He's lucky he didn't get a 'six pack'; knees, elbows and ankles :-(
Tigger, she not only blacks out but she also hallucinates. And that could be confusing some.
Well, I’m rather enjoying it. I prefer Anna as a brunette tho.
Ditto, Zacs.
Is that because of the drug taking, Ken? Or has she always had hallucinations as well as blackouts?
I had to give up as it was far too close to the knuckle for me. However, in series 1 (or it might have been 2) she killed? someone at her house, then woke up the next day and nothing more was said about it - did I imagine that or is it real?
I got fed up long before the end, when I hear
of offensive language and then listen to this
no competition.
