Does it have to be an MP, or will a Lord do?

Nigel Farage?  He's not sitting as a Conservative. Are they expecting him to change sides quite that soon?

Apparently some Tories believe Suella Braverman's acceptance speech was nothing more than a pitch for the top job. She is 17/2 with some firms.

Farage must have been quite a low price because the best price i can see is 10/1 - and they say it's drifting?

IMO Suella is probably their best choice. So it ain't going to be her.

I think now is the time for incoming opposition party to bring back Boris. And make sure they never get into power again😎

Hopkirk 11.24.... I dare them😎

Boris isn't an MP

Neither was Cameron.

Kemi Badenoch would get my vote.

Party leaders need not be an elected MP.

Hopefully reform will merge with the Tories, purge the TINOs and install Farage as leader.

Frankly - it doesn't really matter a whole lot for the next few years!

Well if the two parties did merge Farage is similar to Boris Both Gobby and Stupid. So either one would make sure the Tories stay out of power.

Edited for accuracy.

OG //Party leaders need not be an elected MP.//

They would then be pretty useless in that post, not being able to answer questions in the House.

Re. the OP. If it is a woman, & it probably will be, I would chose Priti Patel over Badenoch. For one thing, she has nicer hair.

David cameron which hasnt been mentioned

nice to see a lot of diversity in the list

the question is why would Farage want to merge with the Tories? Reform already pushed them into third place in a lot of seats. He'll be wanting to overtake them before he starts worrying about taking them over.

Khandro, as far as I know Lords are okay (Lord Hume, for instance): they can still answer questions in Parliament. It's a good thing so many hard-working, h9onest Tories have been appointed to the Lords - the new party leader may yet be Baroness Mone.

If Keni has her wits about her she wont run just yet.  It needs a hatchet man(or woman) to come in clear out any remaining TINO's and set the direction.  This person then needs to step away.

I think Suellea would do well at that and then (may favourite after Boris went) Kemi should take them into the next GE.

I'm in two minds as to Reform.  One thing Reform has done is also get dissafected Labour voters who would never in a million years vote Tory.  Perhaps a combined Party under a totally different name is the way forward?

ymb, the Conservative party won't be in any hurry to ditch a name that's been around nearly 200 years. Look how long it took the Liberals.
