i was thinking about this earlier. (probably all the valentines stuff!) i was thinking about my ex and how if we had kept in touch then we may have got back together but after splitting up we just lost touch.
i think its easy to move on, but sometimes i do wonder "what if"
oh god, tomorrow night i am gonna cook myself a nice meal, buy myself roses and champagne and turn my music up loud and dance, by myself!!

you do move on, though you never forget your first love, sometimes u do wonder how your life would have been if such and such happened. its not regret, if you're happy now, you have fond memories to keep, but it shouldnt be painful or upsetting uless its recent,
i remember my first love when we were 16, we were happy and carefree and it was puppy love, i remeber him and smile at the memory.

I think if someone was really special to you - even when you go your separate ways they still have a place in your heart. Maybe this is because of the memories and experiences you shared, I dont quite know.
Time can be a great healer and even some of those (not all) who you parted with on not-so-good terms can sometimes be viewed with a kind of fondness a few years down the line.
'What if's' dont do much good, but I suppose its human nature to ask the question anyway.
So after all that I'd say yes its probably true.

I do wonder what it would have been like if I had stayed with the first girl I really loved, but it wasn't to be, so you do move on, there will allways be a place for her in my heart she was lovely and we are still in touch, but I could not be happier, I have a lovely wife and two great sons, but I will never forget my first love, I don't think anybody does, it goes very deep the first time you are hurt, and "The first cut really is the deepest" But the love I have for my wife is far deeper.

Coming out with all the cliches - It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all... time is a great healer.
Your brian kind of morphs the reality of past relationships when you look back, I believe if a relationship was right it wouldn't have ended in the first place. As long as you don't dwell on the past and (as Champagne says) allow yourself to love again, you can happily move on.
