You have Japan who are insisting that the bat and ball games are going ahead no matter what, so as long as you hit the ball before you drop down dead that's fine. :0)

Agree with you. There hoping for someone to slip up and let something slip so they have a scoop and show how clever they are to there fellow journalists. The goverment spokesperson's should just keep batting it back with a bland response or just say ' I answered that yesterday' and move on to the next question

However I think later on you go on to speak of the Tokyo Olympics.
If it makes you any happier, I’m sure the Olympics will not go ahead, or at least certainly not as originally planned.
Euro 2020 however just to spoil things, probably will, tho only if they bin the idea of multiple host cities. That was a very bad idea as it turned out.

It puzzles me how the various governments can put so much importance on the money gobbling Olympics, especially when any money spent could be used to better effect by helping to vaccinate the third world countries, and while they are at it, give them clean water and food.

it's not an either/or situation theland - Japan's foreign aid budget was US$15.5 billion in 2019.
When we hosted the Olympics, we still had a foreign aid budget

Intelligent people should therefore be able to understand a perfectly simple OP, or perhaps pretend not to by asking what appears to be an innocent return question about the post, but in fact not an innocent request, more like cutting near the bone of being sarcastic. I've two good teachers on how to replicate such.
