Regulars will have noted that I am a (qualified) fan of Donald Trump, he who asked some interesting and salient questions; to my mind most of all was the one he asked in Poland in 2017.

"Does the West have the will to live?" Well, does it?

"Qualified fan" is an abbreviation, Oz, needing only 'ny' at the end for the full sense.

I fail to see how anyone with a brain can interpret that as anything but a question. Context is everything of course and he was addressing scientists to see if they had any ideas.

My guess is that the posters that see this as a direct instruction have never been in a brainstorming session. Probably never had to thin let alone out of the box.

Nor do I quite - we never know inside another person's mind- but I could guess things like the break down of law and order ( shocking things happening in the US at the moment) & closer to home something DT really cares about unlike the idiot in the White House, is the Islamification on Europe.

I don't think Trump cares about anything but his own wellbeing. I'd go further and say he doesn't have an empathetic bone in his body.

If he's concerned about the Islamification of Europe, it's probably only because it's creeping a little closer to the States.

Is that the same Trump who wanted to leave NATO, presumably leaving Europe defenceless to the Russians? - well noticed grom grom

because same speech - which I commented on at the time. No no dont look back - - I pointed out it was a charles-de-Gaulle-Je-vous-ai-compris speech (*). The crowd chanted I recall trumpo trumpo Polant polant because they thought he had come to save them.

He had lots and lots of pauses for wild raucous cheering which became fainter and fainter as it unrolled that.... he wanted to leave NATO. Poles very obviously said - well what about us?

And trump kinda said - we have enough polaks in the US already thank you

2017 the campaign begins:
The Russian EMpire begins reincorporating satellite nations ( Bylo rush, Poland Estonia Lith, Ukrain Georgia ) BACK into the empire

the satellits nations ALL saying no thank you....

BUT - stalin had put Russian minorities in all of them (!) - and it is to their defence it is thogh the will invade the whole of Ukraine

AND - Lith est and the other one have returned their russian minorities over the last ten years. Not sure if the land went with them

erm I thought the Polish speech ( trump's speech in Poland to the poles that is in um English- this is AB!) - proved that his son in law (now indicted for perjury) really HAD agreed with Putin that if Trump gave him Putin a free hand in Europe Putin would make trump the richest man in the world

Strange then that he is the only world leader (as far as I know) who spoke out against the inhumanity of the ex-Isis detention camps for women & children in Syria etc. & asks for for the countries from whom the women came to take them back, to which Britain turned a blind eye.

Oh, then there is the huge support he has among the US ex-army vets to whom he has given a lot his own time & money.

You can cherry pick about Trump as you can with anyone and make them look good or bad to suit your view.

But objectively, and many with far better knowledge and experience than any of us have agreed -

The best thing you can say about Donald Trump is that he is a deeply unpleasant individual, and the worst thing you can say is that he is mentally unbalanced.

And you can stir and season to taste.
