They shouldn't have been working together day in day out either!
They should have been in separate offices or working at home as all office workers were forced to.

Chelle7272, in the absence of detailed knowledge about how those working in No 10 do their job, it's unfair to say that they should have been working from home. I dont know what was expected of these people during their working hours and why they had to walk down Downing Street every morning, but I really don't think you know either. Just because the government advised working from home "if possible" it was never the default as we'd have no police, postmen or bus drivers on the scene.
Lots of companies out there demanded that workers turn up at their workplaces despite all the lockdown rules and these included investment banks in the city as well as big insurance companies.
To my mind, Boris is carrying the can for a decision made by a civil servant. These permanent secretaries or whatever are career civil servants that don't give a damn about the government they work for as every few years, new politicians move into their place on work. If they detest a politician, they just wait until a reshuffle or whatever to see the the person off and on they go until the age of 65 when they retire with an index linked pension. Lovely. They make the rules; if they want a party, they have it and nothing gets in their way.
