Offensive or not? Was the landlord being a prude here? Do you cringe when you see gays kissing in public?

I'm surprised that comment is still there...
Thing is Kromovaracun cases like this give the anti's ammo. I have been refused a drink because one of the lads had a football scarf on we never made a fuss just turned round and walked out.
We went down the road and in the next pub no one batted an eyelid.
"Thing is Kromovaracun cases like this give the anti's ammo."

True. But that's rather telling, if you ask me. The flimsiness of describing what's described in the article as utterly intolerable 'flaunting' by 'the gays' is utterly transparent.
I don't agree they have done this for the publicity and a claim for compensation. The landlord of any pub can refuse to serve you a drink and he/she does not have to give a reason. They were asked to stop they carried on and were asked to leave.

It seems more complicated than that to me. And I'm not sure there's actually any convincing evidence for your assertion, either.

The way it looks to me is that they were asked to stop, then did, then presumably without thinking it would cause another breach, one gave the other a quick kiss as he was about to leave, and was reproached again.

The incident is covered in more detail here:

I`m keeping out of this as I`d cause a ABer uprising with my thoughts on the subject.
Notice the way they have a witness

>> Jamie Morton, 23, from Canary Wharf, who witnessed the incident, said: "I was really shocked. I said: 'That's outrageous - you can't say that.'" <<
Come on carlton let's have your views don't be shy.
And this supports your conspiracy theory how?
I'm sure they had more than one witness.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident, while the John Snow pub is yet to comment.

pathetic, what a waste of police time. Should the police have got involved when a group of friends and i were ask to leave for laughing too loud?
Just about to catch a train, peeps. Will be with y'all later.

I have just had breakfast with to friends of mine, well acquaintances really, and I brought up the subject of this very topic, for their opinion and comment.

I have known them for about 10 years and went to their wedding and I have always found them entertaining and friendly. The said that in no circumstances would they kiss or caress or "whatever" in public and that they agreed that whatever went on in the pub by the two gays was unacceptable behavior and that the landlord was in his right to ask them to leave.

My personal and limited experience of gays is similar to my experience of heterosexuals in that their behaviour is either completely socially acceptable or what can only be described as outrageous as shown in the behaviour of heterosexual Brits abroad whilst on holiday.

My gay friends concluded that the two "offenders" were attention seekers and in no way representative of the gay community as a whole and in fact brought no credit on male homosexuality.

I am inclined to agree with them.
"if they're kissing in the bar, what the f are they doing in the bogs?"

Probably having a wee.
sorry,,,they were "gay"friends.
koode - in a different thread.
My point exactly, sqad.

I don't think those particular guys are in any way representative of most gay couples.
