A pub is a commercial enterprise, If the landlord thinks that he will lose customers because they find a minority of customers offensive then the landlord has every right to chuck that minority out, whatever they are doing.
"If it was done in my local they would probably get something thrown over them. It's mans drinking pub and most of the clientele in there wouldn't be able to cope with 'nancies"
Personally I wouldn't be a bit bothered by this!......however, I can see that some folk might be!..........maybe they should be more discreet!...and it's the Landlords call after all!...........he can choose who he serves!..............
I have to admit that I'm not comfortable seeing two blokes kissing. But I'm also aware that that's MY problem and not theirs. As long as the landlord would treat a heterosexual couple the same way then it's fair he asks them to leave.
I thought the landlord has discretion over whomever.
Obviously throwing someone out without allowing to drink up may be suspect.
a relation was a relief pub landlord who obviously had experience of people he didnt like said to some lads: [who I admit were not kissing]
OK lads drink up
and they asked who the ++++ are you ?
and he replied you are just about to find out: the landlord now drink up and ==== off !
Not ignoring anything...it's just that it's Friday night and I was out with mates.
That's what Fridays are for.
Incidentally - a mate of mine has posted pictures of the big 'kiss-in' at the John Snow pub.
Good to see that the gays will mobilise against homophobia when the need arises. Makes you proud that the torch from Stonewall has been handed on responsible, dunnit
