A very interesting point was raised on the Mathew Wright Show today
Are foreign workers really taking our jobs?
or as a Nation, are we too lazy?
Who really is to blame?
The company's for exploiting foreign workers by paying them a lot less?
This is always an emotive topic so let me state here and now, I am not being a Racist bigot

The reason some may not find it so reasonable sqad is that which sandyRoe gave earlier. They get trained at the expense of their country of origin but the deprive their homeland of their talents by coming here for better remuneration. Morally that is questionable.
And once such a system is established it means folk born here are less inclined to train, the NHS is less inclined to train them, which has economic consequences regarding employment levels and wealth being 'sent home'; and the country is no longer self sufficient having becomes dependent on the imported labour.
All rather questionable.

In order to reduce their own Tax and NI liabilities, many employers have shifted to 'part-time positions'.
These are payable at minimum wage.
If you are a UK citizens you will be taxed and have NI contributions deducted at the appropriate rate.......this means that your £ 5.93 per hour is reduced (by whatever) and you receive the balance in your hand.
If you are on 'overseas' worker, providing you obey the requisite laws and have an *interruption* in your employment in a 12-month period, you can claim your Tax and NI back from HMRC.
This means that you receive the whole £ 5.93 for each hour that you worked. If you extrapolate backwards that means that 'foreigners' are earning c. £1 - £ 1-50 p.h. more than their British colleagues, in real terms.
