Are foreign workers really taking our jobs?
or as a Nation, are we too lazy?
Who really is to blame?
The company's for exploiting foreign workers by paying them a lot less?
This is always an emotive topic so let me state here and now, I am not being a Racist bigot

sorry Alba, I didn't say Hi :-)
I, too would have thought that to be the case but ironically even though part of Europe, we still have our own laws.
again, take a boss of a factory who pays his workers £3oo a week but hen he can recruit from Poland for less that the minimum wage, who's the villain?
Question Author
we are to them boxy with our NHS and benefits system
He shouldn't be paying less than minimum wage though bobbi, or he's breaking the law.
Question Author
but I would imagine these Bosses don't always register their foreign workers boxy and these poor people will work like Trojans for him for a pittance
yes, and they live in sheds and so forth. That's gangmaster stuff.
The villain in your scenario is clearly the government,of whatever particular political complexion. It is nearly 300 years now since Britain led the campaign to end the exploitation of human beings for the comfort of others. If the price be higher prices, then that is a price we must pay, and if we cannot afford the goods at those higher prices, then we must do without.

I really don't think people have seen on this thread I am totally against the exploitation of foreign workers till now Boxy:o)
I know a polish guy today in the post office. He moved home about 6 months ago. He told me he was here with his wife for the day.
They were signing on collecting their money. I was shocked, he explained it to me.

They have 3 children and are living with his brother who still lives here. They went home to Poland and he has a job there. This was his last time signing on, so he says, but his wife is going to sign on saying she was left in Ireland with the kids. She'll just come over here for the day whenever she needs to sign on on the cheap flights. Even if this is once a month,it will pay her to do it. And childrens allowance etc too.
If a UK joiner/brickie/plumber et al are hoping expecting a wage of say £12/hour and someone from the EU does the same for £8/hr, no-one is breaking the law surely?
Question Author
