Lord High Admiral of the Navy?

Is the title the Queen has bestowed on Phil the Greek.
Why not Prince Consort? What has Phil done wrong?
Sounds something out of Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore....

He has served this country and The Queen well, akin to Prince Albert consort to Queen Victoria. I like the old boy, he says what he thinks, a rare thing in these Politically correct days.

Saw in the papers today "90 things you did not know about D of E".
Some I remember
He was 10 when his parents broke up. His mother had a breakdown and was in a home for many years. He did not see her for 8 years.
In 1945 he was on shore leave from the Navy, urinated in the street and was arrested and fined.
He was broke when he met the Queen but is now worth about 30 million pounds (personal worth - where did he get that from!)
He is 560th in line to the throne (being one of Queen Victorias great grand children).

You are kidding right, you wouldn't mind having President Blair and his wife, sorry but in real terms the Royal Family bring in oodles of dosh to Britain, perhaps some of the younger element need a kick up the backside, but though I am not an ardent Royalist, would rather them, than the odious Blairs.

They do well out of it themselves.
See my append above where I say Prince Phillip was broke when he married the Queen but is now worth £30 million.
So he has gained over £500,000 a year (x60 makes 30 million) just by being D of E.
Nice work eh !
While I am happy to have the Royal Family I am not sure they should be in a position where they can make such a personal fortune at our expence.

I don't believe for a moment that the royals bring any dosh in. That would imply the world was not willing to visit or trade that much with countries without such royalty. No, they are just an anachronism, a vestige of the past.
As for the title, well what do you give the guy who has already been given everything in exchange for smiling at visiting dignitaries and dropping gaffes ? Probably as good a choice of gift as any.

oh how droll, claiming he is a pimp, what do the Royal Family cost the taxpayer per annum, its peanuts, last time i looked 69p per taxpayer per annum.
And while Mr Blair of course is the answer to all your prayers, whilst swanning between one of his seven homes, with not a word about Gordon who screwed up the economy, not on his own mind you, but with a good deal of help from his close friend, well not really going on todays revelations, T Blair esq.
Rather the royals any day, than a pandering, orange faced *** who never cared about Britain, and still doesn't.
