Any Comments? Charles and Camilla yet Again

It sounds rather like part of a court case, rather than a wedding ceremony!

I would have thought those words would have been  more appropriate for murderers & rapists to say before being locked up or even executed.

But surely this is the normal prayer which Christians say every Sunday at Church - so what's new.

Also, I read in the paper this morning that Prince Charles is to aplogise to Andrew Parker-Bowles after all, so what more do they want - blood?

(Of course Camilla Parker-Bowles can't apologise to Diana for obvious reasons - but no doubt she would have too as well).

That's the trouble IAP - when people are committing adultery, they must be so wrapped up in eachother's arms, they can't possibly be thinking of anyone else's feelings - otherwise they wouldn't continue to do so!

Having said that, if I was in a miserable/doomed marriage & someone came along & it felt 'right', I just know I'd have to leave my husband first, then persue the relatonship, I just couldn't do it behind his back. Then again, I s'pose you can't really say unless you find yourself in that situation.

That's not an issue with me & my old man though - we've been together too long!

Why can't people forgive them? To not forgive is as bad as the sin in the first palce isn't it? Would Diana have asked for forgiveness for all the things she did wrong? Possibly. Would she have been forgiven? I expect so, so why can't people afford Charles and Camilla some foregiveness? On this day people should remember that Pope John Paul II went to thre prison where the man who shot him was being heald and he embraced him and foregave him. I'm sure what Charles and Camilla did was not as bad as attempted murder, so live and let live, foregive and move on.

I'm not a churchgoer now Netibiza.  However, I can't remember these words from any service I attended!  I'm not saying they weren't said - just that I can't remember them!

 

I certainly can't remember them in any marriage ceremonies or blessings I have attended.

...so yes FP you would have said them. If the blessing service includes a communion then these words would have to be used as they are part of the service.

Ah Woofgang.  That explains it.  I have never been to a communion service or a blessing with a communion.  I recognise the words from morning prayer services, but they are not quite so harsh!

There is so much cynicism here. Why can't people let them be forgiven. If they make a mistake afterwards then by all means criticise them. Some of you are judging them prematurely, they have been together 30 odd years afterall!
