I have tried to discuss the question of different cultures and attitudes before but have been labelled a racist for doing so.
One has only to look what is happening in the Middle East and what can take place in some Latin countries.
Any study of anthropology will show that different races have different cultures and attitudes.
Take what has happened recently in London, such a thing would not have happened in pre multi immigration England.
In fact the indigenous population would not have gone to such extremes just because they considered the police had not acted in a manner that they wished them to.

AOG, I generaly agree with much of what you say, but as far as these riots are concerned I do not believe multi culturism has much, if anything, to do with it.
Yes, about 100 people went peacefully to the Police station to air their views (and it now seems they did have a point), but the scum that hijacked their demonstration were simply hell bent on destruction. Some did not even come from the area they simply came to loot and riot.
I am not sure that the 'indiginous' population took everything sitting down either.
Having said all this I think you are right that multi cultuism does not work. Just this case is not proof of that.

May I remind you of the time when a monocultural London took to the streets? It was as far back as 1381, when the citizens took it upon themselves to upset the social order in protest against the poll tax. The mob dragged the Archbishop of Canterbury from his lodgings and summarily beheaded him in the streets. Known as the Peasants' Revolt, law and order was restored only by deception, followed by the most savage reprisals. Six hundred years on, nothing seems to have changed much.

>> The Liverpool Transport Strike of 1911 has been highlighted by the historian Eric Taplin as the nearest occasion this country has come to a revolution. The sequence of events built up slowly, but from June 1911, the sequence and timing of events increased, culminating in major flashpoints during August 1911. Large scale rioting, fierce confrontations between the rioters the police and the military resulted in injuries to many people and the loss of life. For some time the city of Liverpool was brought to a standstill, and the movement of goods of any description in or out, or even within the city, was severely restricted. <<

While I generally agree with AOG that rampant immigration in the last few years has been (and will continue to be) a huge problem in this country, I cant agree AOG with your above statement.
As an example there were riots in Birmingham in 1791 (and before), more here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priestley_Riots
Mind you, the difference here is that immigrants (who just dont feel part of this country) take any opportunity to have a riot, and soon decend to their baser instincts by looting etc.
I am afraid like oil and water (which dont mix) we will have this problem for decades as different ethnic groups will continue to dislike each other.
For example the Asians dont like the Blacks and Muslims dont like Jews and so on.
And it used to be such a great country to live in.

do those who dismiss multiculturalism as impossible not understand that it's exactly the mentality they hold that is the barrier?
There is no biological reason as to why two people from different parts of the world cannot live harmoniously side by side. The differences in culture aren't that great that tolerance and understanding can't bridge. It's simply the desire (or lack of) to bridge them that's the problem, it's a vicious circle as these dismissers use the failing of multiculturalism as further fuel for their intolerance.
To answer the OP, it's not a factor at all, if anything it's an example of multiple cultures coming together to fight for one cause.

/// AOG, are you saying that 'white people' wouldn't riot? As I remember the Poll Tax rioters seemed to be youngish white people.///
No I am not saying that, but what I am saying is the fact that 'white people' (as you described them) would most likely not have rioted with such ferocity as the rioters at the weekend.
Ambulance crews who incidentally could not enter certain areas due to the dangers, were also issued with stab vests.
One camera man who had his camera taken from him heard the cry "just take the camera, don't stab him".
Regarding the 'poll tax' riots, personally I don't think the two can be compared, was there mass looting as took place at the weekend?
Also I think you will find the rioters were not solely 'white people' since the poll tax effected everyone over 18 regardless of skin colour.
