Banned or not?
Home Secretary Theresa May has officially banned a planned march by the EDL tomorrow. However, they are still allowed to congregate and conduct a 'static' demonstration in a rural market town. What's the chances it will be peaceful?

Gromit.
/// The EDL are travelling 200 miles+ to wreck someone else's community. ///
I think you would find there would be wrecking to anyone's community, if they were left in peace to protest and then go home, it is the antagonisers that turn up to cause trouble.
In fact the same could be said regarding this site.

/// a small army of shirt-sleeved, middle-aged men with beer

/// The members of Casuals United are largely former football hooligans drawn from the terraces ///
/// The new beast on the far Right ///
All these taken from the Sunday Times site, I ask you? More like the Daily Sport.
/// According to the anti-fascist group Searchlight, Casuals United was created after the trouble in March when Islamists demonstrated against troops returning from Afghanistan to
Luton. ///
/// stirred to action by the sight of Muslim extremists abusing the men of the Royal Anglian Regiment. ///
Need I ask, on which side are you on Gromit?

'Busy' Saturday afternoon in Wellington. The effect the EDL's presence has on a community.

I wonder if the traders of Wellington welcomed having to close their businesses for a day and the loss of money, not to mention the cost of boarding up their premises. And the taxpayers of Wellington paying for all the extra police.
If they want a riot, why can't they do it in Luton, a leave the people of sleepy northern towns alone?

/// Definitely not the side of football hooligans and yobs who throw bottles and missiles at the police.///
Well that's got the blacks, students and other such hooligans out of the way.
Now come clean and tell us if you are also against those Islamists who demonstrated against troops returning from Afghanistan?
Also those Muslim extremists abusing the men of the Royal Anglian Regiment?

I think that all protests and gatherings should have been cancelled in the immediate follow-up to the riots last week - anything where disarray could be anticipated. However - give it another week, if there are no further outbreaks, let Notting Hill go ahead - the goodwill from that weekend usually outweighs any trouble arising there. I do say "usually".

The video you provided does not necessary put any blame on the EDL.
They were small in numbers compared with the huge number of residents.
Notice the police with the black youths on the upper deck of the bus, with batons held aloft.
So I don't think those black youths were as innocent as you wish to portray.

/// The poppy burners do not represent all muslims, just as the EDL does not represent me.///
At last we have come to some form of agreement.
I also say that the terrorists, poppy burners, etc, don't represent all Muslims, but unfortunately all Muslims happen to represent Islam.
Now this is where we come to my alleged support of the EDL. To me this organisation is the only body at present, who are prepared to rip up the book of Political Correctness and protest against the rise of Islam, that is slowly changing the face of England as we once knew it.
Unfortunately there are powers that wish the EDL's voice to be stifled, that is why they get such bad press, so consequently there are opposition mobs (UAF) formed to create havoc, also insults and false stories are created in an attempt to tarnish them.
Similarly to this site really, the Left does not allow anyone to think differently than they do, they presume they are always correct and the Right are always wrong, and they will go to any lengths to retain this status quo,
Why else would the EDL protest create more concern than what we all saw happen on our streets last weekend, have the EDL ever created such havoc? The answer is definitely not, and until they do, I will carry on supporting what their protest is all about.
And this has nothing to do with racism, colour or anything else they have been falsely accused of, just their opposition against certain Islamic concerns.

// ...the black youths had been up to no good and had escaped onto the bus so as to gain some form of protection from the angry residents?
Why else would the police be with them? //
The truth is more mundane.
The EDL and the Black Youth were trading obscenaties and gestures with each other. The Police stopped the EDL and went on the bus to tell the Black Youths to stop it.
There was no rioting and looting on Tuesday night when this incident occurred, so the Black Youths are unlikely to be escaping from anything on the bus. And it wouldn't be very smart to escape on a bus that was heading towards 300 drunken EDL members.

Not quite sure what you are saying, do you agree with me or disagree?
I cannot see any proof that they are EDL, in the clip it shows one EDL member explaining that there are just a handful of them along with 200 residents from the area.
So you see once again even the Telegraph's YouTube video gives out the usual systematically inflammatory lies in it's missleading headline headline "EDL supporters attack bus carrying black youths"
Along with your words "the police have the batons raised when they go over to the edl thugs in the street"
All designed to create opposition against a body that many know nothing about, only what they are told by some who have their own particular agenda to air.
