They say they will stay till Christmas. I wonder if the parade can go ahead now?
Should they be "forced out" now?
if so, how could this be be enforced,
The Bankers don't give a stuff that these people are protesting !, and what have they achieved by it?

perhaps it was. but you also said:

"Should they be "forced out" now?

so, are you just wanting to move them along for the day and let them back again ? the suffragettes spat in the face of police at the mere suggestion you know.
They won't impact on the Armistice Day parade.........
surprised at you, JTH, as you imply that bankers are all male by your Savile Row reference....there are a fair number of women working a senior bank officials and on the gravy train.
I think to answer your point to Triggs bobbi that most veterans fought for freedom ( of speech and action), the right to peaceful demonstration and democracy- therefore they jolly well SHOULD agree with them, and most people I've spoken to from all walks of life and all ages do ( mind you Boo accused me of being an ageing hippy yesterday- so maybe it's just that everyone I know is dodgey;-).

why not?
perhaps they could be co-erced into allowing this to go ahead, and I still think they will never achieve anything at all Ankou, pity I have to nip out, I am enjoying a good debate

NOX I know, but even I find it hard to believe that these war veterans would support this but then it appears a lot on here do just that :-)
I've been taken to task by Mr snitty, so please allow me to re-post an edited comment I made earlier:

<<£20,000 a day, you say.........small change to some of the Bankers presently being challenged by the Peaceniks. Let them put their hands into their own Saville Row suit pockets, and the similarly well-cut suits sported by the female Bankers (of whom there are a shamefully low number, but let's just grind the one axe at a time, shall we?) instead of those of the 'wo/man in the street'.

Better?

This stat is quite surprising - source: City of London stats on the working population -178,582 men, 133,249 women - appreciate that it doesn't describe jobs and the split on the bankers gravy train.

However, just an aside we had one banker woman offer £4 mill in cash for a property down here, unseen near the golf course and sea, and will serve to further distort the market at the expense of local folk. This was probably 40% over its true value. She is to flatten the current house and build a massive new home.......
