Should they have been given permission to hold this protest, on our day of remembrance?

Why aren't the moderate Muslims voicing their objections against these extremists?

there he is again, Anjem Choudary, stirring up more trouble, hatred, why on earth should they be allowed to do this. And if they insist on standing outside the Albert Hall, then perhaps the police would like a quiet word and move them elsewhere.
JTP, perhaps some of the more moderate Muslims, or their forefathers fought for Britain in the last war, so they might not be persuaded to join in.
"And if they insist on standing outside the Albert Hall, then perhaps the police would like a quiet word and move them elsewhere."

thats pretty much what happened last year, then the 30 protestors just wandered off into petticoat lane to do some shopping.
Maybe some of their forefathers fought in the Indian mutiny

How far back do you want to go?
Jake, what should it matter, i made the point because you mentioned about moderate muslims, well maybe there are some who are anti the more extreme sections of their community, but they don't necessarily condemn them, perhaps they should.

ummmm

/// I've never seen anyone on here show support for radicals..///

I myself has only witnessed some not showing support for Right-Wing 'radicals', if that is what the Left generally call them.

But I have never witnessed these same people criticising Islamic radicals, which is what they really are.

One has only to take a look at this thread to prove my point.

/// Just because people are not anti-Muslim it does not make them anti-British.///

It is not a matter of being anti-Muslim, but anti-radical Islam.

If I am wrong then lets have some of you 'British' condemning what these radical Islamics are planning to do on Remembrance Sunday, rather than making cheap juvenile jibes at AOG?

After all that is what the News story was all about, but then you all knew that, but by using the usual diversionary tactics, you hoped that somehow you would sweep matters under the carpet once again.

Spoken like a true Brit, em.
a group of about 30 blokes (no wimmin allowed, even with false beards) are going to burn a poppy as a demonstration against the wars in iraq and afghanistan.

this mr choudray bloke gets a lot of publicity.
Lefties are usually anti British terrorist sympathisers AOG, it's just their way.

This is just the sort of thing that "moderate" muslims, if indeed they do exist, should be using to demonstrate to the indigenous popolation that they are not all extremists.
which part of their protest do you object to kayless, and why ?

just asking.
A few old gems translated into their true meaning:

<<the usual diversionary tactics>>

= pointing out weaknesses, distortions and presuppositions in the original question or argument

<<sweep matters under the carpet>>

= ABers choosing to ignore trivial prejudices and non-stories and developing other strands that they find more interesting

<<Spoken like a true Brit>>

= placing a post that is interpreted as agreement with Old Git
.
again we're playing right into the hands of these horrible individuals by going on and on about their threat. They are very, very small group whose aim is to create a divide, to make reactionary right wing fools get their backs up against the impending 'threat of Islam', this in turn creates animosity amongst the wider Muslim community as they feel victimised for the actions of this handful of tools!
The only way to beat this kind of action is to ignore them, make sure everyone knows that their actions and opinions are very much in the minority. We should see them as a pathetic minor irritation rather than the 'threat' they so much wish to be considered.
Mr Choudary does get a lot if you care to look and listen. He has been on any number of programmes on TV, radio and newspapers. I have read, listened to what he had to say, alongside his acolytes. He said numerous times, he wants to see Britain an Islamic state, with Sharia Law in operation.
I confess that doesn't sit well with me particularly, and he may be a crackpot to some, but so was Hitler to some, before he decided to stamp his jackboot all over Europe, so forgive me for not liking his stance on poppy burning, or religion for that matter.
And they should get absolutely no media coverage.
ah, the nazi link. at last.

paul, very true. no doubt the red top hacks will be clambering over each other to get a front row seat at the poppy burning ceremony whilst completely diregarding the vets and wounded at the official ceremony. this sells more papers.
pa ul, whilst i would love to agree with you, they do get lot's of publicity, and they are not a small group of extremists.

The point the OP is making is why are these people allowed to cause trouble on our streets? Remembrance Sunday is a day the British always uphold with ceremony in remembrance of our War dead. If most Muslims are peaceful and enjoy the benefits of living in Britain, why don't they take a stance from the mosques and the streets against these ignorant dispicable people. They know full well that their actions are set causing trouble. My question is why are these people here at all? They obviously hate all British traditions, but enjoy lying and cheating the system.
ayg,,,well said
Ankou, I object to this or any group disrespecting our past and present armed forces. People who died to create a system of living that these lowlives would deny us all but use to offend us at will. They seem happy enough to live on benefits from the infidel. If Their perverted system is so good why do they live here?
I would like to see the veterans outside the Albert Hall tell these idiots quite why the poppy is so revered in military terms, perhaps they just don't understand it's significance.
