That was my complaint. However, the fact remains that had it been aimed at a religious group it wouldn’t have been considered acceptable, and it certainly wouldn’t have been considered humorous. In fact he wouldn’t have dreamt of doing it. Double standards and duplicity abound.

Sorry to say this NOX but (in Jno's case) if you believe that you'll believe anything. The proof was in Jno's reply to my incredulity at putting Torquemada on a pedestal [00:21 Mon 30th Apr 2012].

It's all too easy to retrospectively claim that insulting / abhorrent comments were really just made in jest. In order to test that claim, you must look at the context in which they were made and any other subsequent comments which appear to support the initial post. Jno's first two posts on this thread fail that test – they are exactly what they appear to be: insulting and abhorrent.
