It was 7.00 not midnight and if like in the village where I live there is a cul de sac which is so small as to have pretty much no traffic down it, then it might not be as remiss as you think. My friend lives in such a house and anytime up until about 9.00 when I visit him there are droves of little kids playing out there because their parents consider it safe as there is no traffic and the houses surround the spot so plenty of people about. It's easy to be wise after an event. I just hope she's found safe and well.
Heartbreaking, just watching it on the TV, what an absolutely fabulous community they have there, so many people have turned up to help search. My kids were always in bed by 7.30, but there were the odd occasions when they were up later, it's irrelevant really, abductions can happen day or night, especially if it's someone local. I've crossed everything for a happy ending.
good morning folks.
after reading the piece, there is one fact that i am curious about ... the article quotes that she was seen 'getting into' the vehicle - not 'being placed into' the vehicle. that suggests to me that there is a possibility she may have known or been familiar with the driver.
i of course, join all of you in hoping she will surface safe and well.

I'm honestly not demonising them, as a parent who left her kids in a hotel room whilst having dinner once I have no right [my son was 10 at the time though but hey shlt still happens] and in that article it does sound like the mum thought she was at another childs house. I would have known! You can't trust kids at that age to be where they are meant to be.
BOO....it doesn't except that "And it is irrelevant what we do with our children" is the bottom line, as those parents who advocate the children being in bed, would not be in that position of looking for a missing child.
I agree with NoM we are not demonising them, just putting forward our perspective on the problem.

Obviously I hope she's found safely and I knew we would be admonished for saying she shouldn't have been out at that time at that age but the fact remains it is dark now at that time and clearly there were not responsible people around to see that she didn't get into anyone's car. Like it or not she should have been indoors at that age.
