Finally sense is prevailing and the true victims are being recognized. What a shame the lunatics (in the form of hand wringing liberals) took over in the first place.

if someone comes on my property and I deem them to be a threat to anybody on my property and or my propertry I will do whatever I have to, to disable them to such a degree that they are no longer a threat,

my property....my rules...dont like it ? then dont come onto my property uninvited
^^^ with you on that one baz! ^^^
"my property....my rules"

Interesting how different that woiuld be when levied at promiscuous teenagers compared to a court judge. I wonder if you would be equally autocratic.
Exactly, it matters not this legal or illegal crap I would do what I deem is the right thing !
I agree with bazwillrun..........the scenario....in the still of the night, a noise downstairs, an intruder, the wife refuses to go down to investigate, so i am given the envious task.

Is it a drug addict, has he got a knife or a gun, or just a mere intruder entering my property to help himself?

I must get the first blow in to disable him as if i don't i am the one that gets "disabled."

What can i use, a gun, a golf club, a baseball bat............anything to either scare him off or disable him...........I couldn't care which.
Will my wife be safe.....the kids.......?

My interpretation is that the "new ruling" will give me greater support from the law in protecting my property and family.

This is the debatable and confusing aspect, but in my opinion it is at least veering in the right direction.
"the wife refuses to go down to investigate"

They can be awfully lazy at times, cant they ?!
and cowardly.......LOL
And if that person happens to be a one night stand beau bought home by your daughter.... I guess he wouldn't be getting his leg over.
Octavius........LOL........only had sons, so it would be someone else's problem.
Well (hypothetical, seeing as my daughters are too young) then perhaps I would be in the position of enacting your domestic ambitions upon one of your sons tip-toeing around my house with his trousers round his ankles. I'm sure you'd understand why I hurt him so bad. My castle and all that.
Just to clear a point, surely it is the female who '' gets the leg over'' in view of the fact that the male would not have to open his legs.

WR.
Well, sqad and octavius, when the time comes you'll need the Homicide Act 1957 section 2 (abnormality of mind; perhaps not) and section 3 (provocation; if the jury hears evidence that the accused was provoked, by things said or done, to lose his self-control, it is for the jury to decide whether a reasonable man would have done what the accused did, kill)
Those are 'diminished responsibility'.

Any sentence may be passed, from conditional disharge up; bad news if the judge thinks the jury were daft to accept the defence, good news if the judge thinks you were, near as a dammit, perfectly entitled to kill the lover, son or daughter, or both.. You never know !
