I think it might be misleading to both Muslims and non Muslims.
Muslims might think it is a place of worship when it supposedly is not, while non Muslims might think it is.

/// Planning Laws are applicable to all regardless of
'circumstances'. ///

In theory granted, but that doesn't stop some from fighting them, especially if some have the use of certain 'levers'.
Naomi, I accept your point but Ratters description of 'Muslims as a load of nutcases' was offensive to me. And quite frankly I'm surprised the post has remained.
I rather happen to agree with our friend Ratter, i must admit that i might not have said it, but certainly at times think it.
The only 'permissible levers' are those applying to Planning matters, AOG, despite whatever you would like to think.
AOG , people by nature will use whatever 'levers' they can to get their own way, it does not mean they should succeed.

What is most intrusive this chaps sign or caravans parked on drives?

A person living not far from me, has an old hand plough sitting above the entrance to his property.

And no before one asks, it is not the 'Plough Inn'.
Caravans and other such paraphenalia do *not* require Planning Permission; a sign such as in your link does.
Eccles, //Ratters description of 'Muslims as a load of nutcases' was offensive to me And quite frankly I'm surprised the post has remained..//

Personally, I wouldn’t consider someone who decorates the exterior of his home with an enormous sign lauding Allah and his prophet to be entirely rational, and since this is the subject of the thread, it’s clear that these are the sort of people Ratter is talking about - hence I’m very pleased his comment has remained, because all too often on these pages the cry of ‘offensive’ is abused and is used solely to shut other people up. We are all ‘offended’ by something, but you know the saying…… your rights end where mine begin.
I am wholely against this kind of decoration and glad he has been told to remove it.
But it is less obtrusive that those houses that go over the top with garish christmas decorations. Some of those really ought to suffer a similar fate.
Sometimes one can outwit the Council.. this always cheers me up when I pass
