The point I am trying to make is that Muslims live under Islamic law and there are lots of things they are not supposed to do. If they are in prison they have already broken Islamic law by committing a crime, but a tiny trace of pork DNA in their food has them all distressed and upset. I think it is hypocritical. I wonder how many will go down the compensation route?
NOX - lighten up, it's just a bit of silly word play that has been going on. It doesn't mean that we don't respect the rights of their food habits. I could be harsh and add that I wish they respected some of our customs though.
Jolly good, I'm not getting into a row on this when it's obviously just 'word play'- I just fancied that since it was posted in ' News' it might actually get some sensible replies. How silly of me.
NewsFlash - *Tesco Pork Sausages Withdrawn from sale, as found to contain 100 Percent Pork.* "I feel conned" says Mr Smith, 63 from Pigersham "I paid £1.16 for 35 sausages and I thought the least I'd be dining on would be horse or Ostrich" He further complained to the courts that the moon is not made from cheese, as previously believed.
To be fair, loads of people have been buying beef burgers with horse meat in them so a sense of perspective is needed. I don't expect it was done on purpose.
Seriously though, when will people start feeling aggrieved that chicken served in virtually all prisons is halal. Where are the rights of non-muslms in that arrangement?
I see a major compensation case coming up here.as it is only traces what's the odds on this being deliberate leading to more depletion of the taxpayers pocket.
perhaps then we could have all food labelled, if it's halal it should say so, and the food industry needs to up it's game to stop this sort of thing from happening. I wondered before if Muslims don't eat pork yet had bought products that have been tainted with it, say beefburgers which have been in the news of late, no one would know.
Compared to what can finish up in prison food, I'd be grateful it's only pork - I dare suspect DNA testing prison food would throw some up some unusual results.
Ignoring this hands a propaganda present to radicals - before you know it there will be exagerated stories of prison officers force feeding muslims pork chops
No one gives a damn that for years we have had halal food stuffs foisted on us, as been proved, so i really don't care if by mistake a little bit of pork dna finds it's way into prison food. If they have been eating beefburgers then that could also have traces of pork, no one is the wiser. Now they know they can rectify the matter, but honestly if you don't want to eat prison food, and i suspect that it isn't all that pleasant then don't do the crime.
