What I fail to understand about this is the fact that the Government is talking to the Football Association and the National Children's Football Alliance over this.
Anyone know why the National Children's Football Alliance?
If it does take place surely it has got top be fixed, we can't possibly let the Germans win? :0)
Because the NCFA is a body, lottery funded, which has as its aim the encouragement of children to play soccer and because, specifically, it originated the Christmas Truce Project. This project is to establish a field, near the site of the famous 1915 impromptu match, to be devoted to the use of children playing sport, in the hope and expectation that they will learn and be reminded of the events of the Great War. No bad thing, eh, aog?
Thank you Fred for your explanation, I can understand the Lottery connection but I fail to see why children should get involved in the actual suggested recreation of the WW1 football match.

Regarding the creation of a field near to the actual site, if they want to really create a similarity of the WW1 match they hardly want a 'level playing field'. (please ignore the pun)
