On another occasion (and a little less direct as he did not salute himself) a BNP councillor in Stoke was revealed to have gleefully posed for a photograph some years before with a group of people performing the fascist salute next to a war memorial. While it's true he wasn't doing it himself, he admitted the incident was 'regrettable' and certainly seems to have had no problem with it in the photograph: http://
