Her back garden is smaller than my kitchen, so why does a so called dog lover think that is enough space for 5 dogs?
And what about the cost, she doesn't appear to be rolling in money.
Bring back the licence

These dogs are dangerous , simple as that, time and time again its the same breeds involved, nearly always some chav scum owner in a council house.
how she affords to feed these dogs is a mystery, if she has that sort of money why is she in a council house. ?
They need to ban council tenants from having more than one dog.
I'm sick of hearing the its the people not the dogs argument, since when did the owners bite the victims ?

Mick, "Bring back the licence" what difference will that make?
I accept that all dog should be licensed and the license should only be awarded after proving that they have a reasonable knowledge of dog training and that their dog has been trained to an acceptable standard.

I know what you are saying but Staffies have been kept in this country for many many years without a problem. The problem has only arisen since the pitbull era and its subsequent ban of these dogs, the Macho idiots then took on the Staffie as it looked similar to the pitbull in some respects, this lead to indiscriminate breeding and the wrong macho types owning these dogs.
Good responsible Staffie owners do not have any such problems!

Oh god, how terrible :-((
Personally, I don't like this kind of dog. I am a dog lover, but this is always the breed I am most anxious about and, if I see one running free in a park, I would turn around and get my kids straight out of there.
I've been brought up with the understanding that *all* dogs have the potential to attack and that kids should never be left alone with them.
This is a really sad case, but I do agree with the comments regarding the amount of animals in such a small space.
Wasn't there an incident last year where a mother was savaged to death by a number of dogs in a small back garden?
When are people going to learn?
Unfortunately, the staffie seems to be the 'weapon' of choice for someone wanting to portray themselves as 'hard', these days.

Yes a very tragic case, but we don't know the full circumstances, it is said that the girls was eating something, and children can be very teasing at times.
Perhaps that is what happened, perhaps the girl was offering the food to the dogs then snatching it back before the dogs could get a taste, this would annoy the dogs so much that they attacked her as a pack?
Regarding the right of having 5 dogs in one house is yet another matter, it is about time that stronger regulations were put on the ownership of some breeds of dogs.
High cost licences should be imposed on these types of dogs, It should be unlawful for non licensed dog breeding, licensed dogs should be chipped and made to wear harnesses/collars and leads of a bright imposing colour as well as muzzles in public.

Meglet, if you were invited onto a property or walked in the front gate of a property and you were attacked im fairly sure a prosecution can be made.
AOG, //It should be unlawful for non licensed dog breeding, licensed dogs should be chipped and made to wear harnesses/collars and leads of a bright imposing colour as well as muzzles in public.// that is ridiculous!!
We just need to be able to ban certain elements from keeping dogs and ensure all dogs are adequately trained to a reasonable standard and charge a realistic license fee.

'Beware of Dogs, Enter at own risk'
these days that sign is an admission of the fact that your dogs are a danger and probably should not be in the house in the first place! a child or someone with limited sight could walk through that gate in all innocents and get mauled!!
Im fairly certain that under "almost" any conditions the owner is likely to be prosecuted.
