Well that didn't last long did it, it is said he doesn't want to be separated from his wife and forthcoming child.

I wonder how all those other 'full time' armed force personnel, who also have wives and families, feel when they regularly carry out six month tours of active duty, not in nearby peaceful Anglesey, but in far off dangerous Afghanistan?

I am not going to argue with you over if it was offensive or not.

I simply asked why your title contained capital letters at the start of every word but RAF was not written in capitals as it should be.

It was pointed out by ummmm and bednobs that this happens automatically and I apologised.

FGT is correct, there was nothing offensive, I'll vouch for that.
I can only surmise it was removed because it made reference to the 'caps in the OP' problem that is a source of continued disappointment to many of us, he ce I expect this one to go the same way.

I am of the ilk. that the husband goes out to work and the wife stays at home to look after and bring up the "kids."

Seemed to work well in the past and i really have never been convinced of the values of a "hands on father."

Kate has duties to perform too, Sqad (much as the current queen does). Royal families have seldom followed the course you propose; you can't be a figurehead if you're always at home (as Victoria found).

jno.....I stand corrected here, but our present queen H.M Queen Elizabeth 2nd, brought up four children and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh continued his naval service.

Phil left active naval duties in 52 when the Queen achieved apotheosis. Charley was born in 48,Ann in 50. Then a 10 year break till Andrew came along.

Not that it really moves the debate along, but if he has served his contracted term within the Air Force, its up to him ,surely?

There will be plenty for him to do without being in the Forces, could be that the Queen makes him Prince Regent to learn the craft......? Or a joint Prince Regent with his father?

Actually the Duke left active service in 1952, when they only had two children (they had nannies up to that point)

When the other children came along in 1960 and 1962 they had nannies and governesses.
