Where Is Your 'war On Terror' Now President Bush?
162 Answers
After this country slavishly followed the war-monger Bush in his laughably termed 'war on terror' (How can you fight a war against a concept?) and after all the loss of lives as soldiers 'protect' us - it has come to this.
It's as easy as two maniacs with weapons to kill people on British streets.
All that military power, time, money, casualties and deaths on both sides to 'protect' us, and how protected are we really?
Surely the time has come to accept that we can never 'win' this war, but we must try and find a solution to the hatred that drives Moslem extremists to hate the West so much.
If the numpties in the EDL start their 'revenge', then let's not imagine that Afghanistan will start happening right here, right now.
Enough is enough - time to try and sort this out with dialogue, because guns and bombs are not working for anyone.

/// In all my time on this board I cannot recall any instance of condemnation for these facists, from you. ///
Simply because they have not done anything to condemn them over. they are a far-right group not fascists as you and others would wish to label them, who have set themselves up to protest against the rise of Islam in this country, they do not seek the repatriation of all foreigners like the BNP do.
Those on the Far-Left, the Socialist Worker's Party, the Anti-Nazi League etc, are the one's that we should be careful of, they are the fascists who wish to see an end to free-speech and protest, they cause more trouble than the EDL, but are never criticised.
Why there are even some on here that will also call the UKIP fascists, racists etc. it seems anyone is open for insults and falsities if they happen to disagree with the Left.
Is Alex Salmond also a fascist for being the head of the Scottish Nationalist Party wanting an Independent Scotland, how is it that Scotland can have a Nationalist Party but England cannot?

Shall we start with the leader of the EDL who goes by the pseudonym 'Tommy Robinson'
http:// en.wiki pedia.o rg/wiki /Stephe n_Yaxle y-Lenno n
On 29 September 2011 he was convicted of common assault after headbutting a fellow EDL member at a rally in Blackburn in April that year. The judge stated that a custodial sentence could not be ruled out.
Would you like to start by supporting or condemming that?

Well see how democratic the SNP are after the referendum, any national party, is nationalistic.
As for not facist your leader "Tommy Robinson" his real name is Stephen Lennon a former member of the BNP - There are many former members of the BNP in the EDL as well as "ex" members of the National Front.
As for defending free speech why have they attacked trade union rallys, anti cuts meetings and old "Tommy" issued threats to school and college students protesting over tuition fees. They burnt a Pakistani national flag in Manchester.
Richard Price, convicted paedophile EDL founding father defended by "Robinson" wonder why http:// twitpic .com/9l ebsm
Also "Robinson" is a big critic of the Burka but it appears balaclavas are ok

I condemn any violence, but I fail to see what this has got to do with the EDL, why even Labour MPs have their moments, shall we condemn the whole of the Labour Party for the actions of one?

There you go again, a typical Lefftie ploy, when one is losing an argument, fall back on making things up, inventing things that haven't been said, and if all else fails throw a few insults towards one's opponent.
Since I am not a member of the EDL, then he is not my leader.

Good for them, obviously they saw the errors of their ways and joined another party, nothing new there then, goes on all the time.

Prefer if you could produce evidence of that before I comment on it.

From what I have read he wasn't defended over the paedophile charge, but for a previous assault charge made against him, but all in all a pretty describable piece of pond life it seems.

Nothing unusual in the fact that he is a big critic of the Burka, seeing that the EDL's aim is against the rise of Islam in England.
As regards the balaclavas nothing new there, when one doesn't want to be discriminated against or even worse, don't students also cover their faces whilst protesting, and then there are the hoodies but then it is always best to use these when one is looting, and setting fire to police vehicles and buildings.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm...you may be right, I don't really know anything much about the EDL, other than they look a bit like the BNP and suchlike...you know...low intelligence and shaved heads.
But they didn't murder a soldier by chopping him up into little pieces yesterday, in broad daylight, in front of dozens of people. Its the people who are prepared to do that we should fear and the ones we should be dealing with, rather than fight amongst ourselves, here on AB.
