I believe the human race would have a better future without religion, and Islam does its fair share to contribute to my conclusion. I don't believe it is a force for human flourishing.
Does this mean that I think every Muslim is stupid, or evil, or violent, or that I think every Muslim wants to kill me? No, of course it doesn't.
I do maintain that muslims and non-Muslims can co-operate and live in peace, but with some conditions. There are some Western and modern values which do inevitably lead to irreconcilable conflict with mainstream Islam - for instance, tolerance for homosexuals. On issues such as these, we are obliged to pick a side.
I hope that answers your question.

Indeed Lofty. Would you believe I had to have my son baptised before the local school would accept him? My wife is an unpractising catholic and I am atheist, just as well the Priest did not go looking for my baptism cert when I gave him some BS about being baptised too myself. I just wanted the bit of paper to get my son enrolled and it was before the days of internet and decent home printers.

Naomi you say Muslims may not be genuine when they say they are appalled at what happened, do you have any evidence of them saying one thing to Muslims and the opposite to non-Muslims?"
I have been to Masjid many, many times and have mingled with Muslims and amongst them. Naomi's statement is very correct.

I believe that all God-fearing people are the enemy. Not having the moral fibre to face up to the harsh realities of our life on earth, they make up all sorts of fairy stories, build a power structure round them, and try to impose it on the rest of us. It's not just Muslims, and I have no time for the exclusively Muslim-bashers on AB.
No. It is wrong to tar everyone of a certain group with the same brush, based on their religion, because some would commit acts of murder and hide behind said religion. I seem to remember not so long ago gay bashing was the norm until it became unPC. It seems that, since 9/11 at least, blatant racism disguised as religious intolerance, has become normal again. How sad we are if we cannot allow the people who are innocent in this sad case alone.
*Do You Believe All Muslims Are Our Enemy?*
am i allowed to answer that? or would i be seen as being biased? :p
*It's dangerous to assume that you or anyone else knows what Muslims say to each other in private. More likely, like everyone else, they'll be fussing over the same day-to-day worries we have than secretly praising atrocities. I hope I'm right at least. *
i kinda agree with that but not sure i would say its dangerous jim... same applies to anyone, you cant assume what they say in private..... im muslim, work with muslims, work in a 99% (i would guess) muslim area.... i havent heard a single one of them praise what happened... some didnt know about it and were disbelieving when it was mentioned...
i cant see as any one of you know what muslims think because they all have differing views on each other never mind on people who arent muslim.. i know muslims who think im verging on extreme (for various reasons) i know ones who think im kufr.... go figure
one thing for sure... i got way more glares and dirty looks today than i normally get...
