oh great of course they would, do you not know anything at all about the EDL, patriotic to the core, skewed thinking i agree, but they love our forces, didn't you get that from their pathetic attempts to donate money to the family of the soldier killed recently. You think they would scrawl that on memorials, for heavens sake.
you don't want to believe that their are murderers, fanatics, in our midst who belong to a religion that we see on the news, papers daily, killing one another right across the Middle East, we don't even have to have service personnel there for that to continue. I am heartily sick of the apologists for these fanatics, if you think that someone from the EDL did this, then heaven help this country.
Did I hear the news correctly this morning? Did the Help for Heroes charity say that they will not be accepting any donations from the EDL or any far right groups?
I would wait first to see who did this. Even though the word Islam was daubed on both momuments, it seems to be a very cryptic message. If a mosque were to be defaced, I imagine a more direct message than 'Christianity' would be painted.
It was a day when the EDL were in town in large numbers. It is not hard to imagine this was done by a suppoter or even member to get the mob angry.
It could also have been radical muslims with very little to say and a dislike of pets. The jury is out.
Apparently the attacked happened at 5am. If they are able to pinpoint the time, I assume there is some CCTV evidence, so the chances of getting the culprit or at least a discription are good.
baz, it doesn't seem genuine. "Islam", is an unlikely thing to write if you're a Muslim. Far more likely is a reference to Allah being great, or a condemnation of non-believers. To say that no member of EDL ,or no person of similar thinking, would so daub a war memorial in that way, insults their intelligence
