Penelope - do you really, honestly expect him to be treated in an NHS hospital? It is you spouting rubbish. (PS - was it really so bad in hospital that you had to share a bed?)
-- answer removed --
Penelope, it is sad that you feel your care was lacking - but to take it out with such vitriol on an elderly man is quite sad to read.
Of course he has priveliged care, he's the queens husband. I'm not sure what Penelope's point is.
Seems a bit angry they didn't get one on one care.
well i hope you had more compassion and professional understanding of your patients needs when you were working, since you've retired you seem to have decided to give it all up.
That's just it penelope2. He is paying for Private Care as you would have had if you had paid for it.
How do you know the tax payer is paying for it? Ever heard of BUPA and Spire?

I wish him by very best wishes.
Question Author
the reason he has lived so long is because of the privileged life he has led. at tax payers expense, his care in hospital will be excellent,
I agree with penelope, but then I have always been an anti-royalist. However, as I am also a great believer in humanity, I hate to think of anyone whoever they are having to go through a great deal of pain. He is very fortunate to have attained such a great age with so few illnesses, probably because of the priviliged life he has led.
Neither have you, penelope impersonator - this is not the first time that you have belittled someone who, despite certain individualistic traits, has given immense service to this country in terms of his support to the Queen and, before that in his distinguished service in the Navy in several theatres of operations in WW2, and that as as someone who became a naturalised Brit.

Your stance is, mr. or miss or mrs. penelope or Parker, is quite simply, disgraceful and disgusting - and what has he, Philip, done to merit such verbal assault from you?
You can't say that Anne. My great aunt is 91 and hasn't had a privileged life.
My mum was 92 she didn't have a privileged life, very few illnesses and NHS treatment only when required.
his/her's comment to daisy nonna is also not on and shows the shallowness of the argument. Penelope, you have no idea of daisynonna's background, just as we don't. You have no clue of her background, her charity work or whatever, she could be a bloody "Other Buggers Efforts", "My Bloody Efforts" or even a Lady for all we know, for her services to UK society..........
Penelope, // I can talk with some authority on the 'pro's and cons' of privileged care.//

Me too. I’ve been on both ends, but I don’t begrudge anyone the best treatment available to them. No doubt, given the choice, in his situation you’d insist on going NHS. Very noble.
Depends what the true definition of privileged is. You could say that I have a privileged life, since I have no one to please but myself and can use my time in whatever way I wish. Doesn't stop me being utterly bored stiff at times, trying to use what little time I have left pleasurably.
DTCwordfan: Whatever are you talking about? Perhaps you can provide evidence to support your claims.
Perhaps Penny should go back to her bottle of Pinot a day habit as she's sadly missing it.
Yeah, course s/he would. A bit like Mother Teresa practising what she preached.
I find this whole thing really funny. If you have a royal family you have to admit they are privileged. I'm fine about this as I am a royalist.
If you think this is wrong, tough, as a clear majority of the population are in favour of the royal family.
substantiate your statement to daisynonna, //Have I done my duty? I think so, question: Have you????//
