Aww I did think he looked quite frail at the Coronation service, he was trying not to grimace with pain sometimes when the camera was on him. Hope he recovers soon ...........
Birthday candles in hospital for Phil.
He is to have exploratory abdominal surgery. At his age this is no minor thing.
Bless him. Hope he gets better soon
How sad, I hope he recovers, he did well to attend the Coronation service. All the pomp and ceremony must be tiring for someone his age.
I bet he doesn't wait to be seen, or get put on a waiting list.
Question Author
he shouldn't still parading about, hes old and frail............should be at home ( one of many ) with his feet up.
sounds like he's had tests, they've thrown up something that needs to be looked at, so they're doing an exploratory op. He was chatting at a garden party this afternoon and looking fine (for a 91-year-old), so I doubt there's much risk.
It's going to be a very worrying time for his family, I hope he manages to stick around for the new baby anywway, it would be great to know he met the next in line
Question Author
hes having surgery, at his age, id say there is a risk..........
It's sad when people die too soon. He's lived a long and happy life.
I wonder if the Queen will visit him in hospital.

She couldn't be bothered to go when her Mum had a hip operation.
HRH may have gone in incognito, I don't suppose that it is the 'done thing' to visit ones Ma when one is Queen, unless of course she was on her deathbed.
On Sky news it said that the Queen visiting the hospital creates undue press attention.

I wholeheartedly do not agree with your opinion penelope but i guess you just had to add it
Question Author
sher, she could take a bus and put a hat on to visit her husband.
Penelope, regardless of your thoughts on the royals (I can take them or leave them), not many 91 years have to do as much as he does. If they put him in a NHS hospital you would be moaning about the extra resources being diverted to keep him secure.
Yes sherrardk: If they put him in a NHS resources facility he/they would realise what a sheltered, priviledged life they lead. I would not complain about the added pressure put on one NHS bed by one 91 yr old patient, however I would complain about the resources that are removed from us mere mortals to provide care him in this privileged resource.
