Good thing though is you can have a crafty one in the toilets without anyone knowing :-)
No evidence to suggest that nicotine is carcinogenic, although it is an alkaloid, and can be lethal in high enough doses. It also appears to have teratogejnic effects; In one large study, women who used nicotine patches and gum during the first trimester of pregnancy had a larger incidence of birth defects.

There are some studies though which suggest that some of the metabolites of nicotine could be carcinogenic, so although nicotine itself is probably not carcinogenic, it could be considered a kind of pre-carcinogen...
No idea if they smell or not, incidentally. I have only seen one guy I know puffing on one, and I cannot say I noticed any specific odour associated with the e-cig, although I thought it looked vaguely absurd :)
Only stupid people still smoke in the 21st century...let them go on being stupid if they want to, as long as I dfon't have to put up with their pollution.
So you are in agreement with the ecigs then, Mikey?
As long as I don't have to be inconvenienced by the stink of cigarettes, than people can puff away on these silly things if they want.

Hope that's clear now ?
Menace??? For goodness sake!!!!

And smoke one of these e-cigs afterwards perhaps?

The funny thing is all the smokers who used to go outside our office to have a cigarette, now still have to go outside to suck on the e-cigs. I don't know if there's been an official pronouncement on it, I just don't think anyone would dare start puffing on one at their desk.
It's hardly a menace, if people are trying to give up smoking.
'New menace'? I thought the link was going to report something menacing! How ridiculous!
