Absolutely not....ok hes won Wimbledon....once...what else has he done ?
Even Beckham would have far more justification for one of these and i'm agianst him.
its becoming a bit silly giving these awards to people for just doing their job...Bradley Wiggins...unheard of before by most people and even in cycling...now pfffft....back into virtual obscurity outside his sport
I kinda think he deserves one for breaking the 77 year old wait for a male, British Wimbledon winner. At least in comparison to others (Bradley Wiggins etc) anyway.
No, he's a tennis player. People who display bravery and engage in feats of great danger, people who construct things which benefit humanity and help those less fortunate deserve knighthoods, not sportsmen however good at it they are.
I should just add to my previous post that I agree with the general idea that sportsmen shouldn't receive honours. In Murray's case I'm sure winning Wimbledon and the US Open will mean far more to him than letters after his name.
Mind, he's going to get another honour for this anyway so we may as well practise calling him Sir Andy Murray, OBE.
Agree with boto and sharing an. It is his job and benefits him more than anyone else(which is fine, but doesn't necessarily need further rewarding)
Winning is enough
