Would this type of thing be beneficial to children as young as five, or only create confusion?

You are always a young ageless starlet to me Lottie.
Swoon................
AOG, // Seems like a form of sex education (ie education of a person's sex)//

That is one of the most amusing things I've read for a while. As ‘knowledgeable’ as you are, I can’t see how you work that one out, AOG. If only one gender is featured, the books can hardly teach lessons in distinguishing between the two sexes.
Octavious.....OLDIES......so what? I object to that term.

In most European Countries the opinion of "oldies" are appreciated.......not so in the UK, particularly AB...it would seem.

There are 'OLDIES' and there are 'oldies' Sqad. I like to think I have experience of age and the wisdom and understanding to alter my views on some things. And I hope I continue to do so until the day I die.

I must admit though I don't like being categorised.
I think 'oldies' is a term used because of some peoples attitude. You don't fit that, Lottie.
^ :o)
And I do have some very strong old fashioned attitudes as you know, ummmm ;o)
AgeUK, ...."Perceptions of the competence of those over 70 (on a scale of 0 to 4) ranged from 3.02 in Hungary down to 1.87 in Poland, with the UK just below the European mean (2.44) on 2.35."

Did you know, that in the same survey the perception of young people by the old, the UK scored the lowest.
Octavius...bloody fascinating .........
I acknowledged that my sweeping statement was unfair.

Ageless starlet? For Lottie?Ageless star, surely? Though your avatar is confusing, Lottie. Isn't that a bloke in drag? You weren't starring with John Mills as his trusty, heroic, dies in last reel, pal in War films were you?
Trig - Good one ;o)
I think my avatar is a real ladeeee actually and it is my splitting image!!!! ;o)

And I am not old enough to have starred in anything with John Wayne unless was a child actor.

I promise you I am not really a bloke!!!! ;o)

Lovely post Trigs x
Fact: The "norm" isn't and has never been a homogeneous society of entirely heterosexual people. Human sexuality is a continuum with a great variety of orientations.

The rejection of homosexuality is driven by a single reference in the Bible in a chapter authored one of the most twisted bigots whose work was included in the compendium.

The "ideological" agenda is that which takes its lead from religion and refuses to acknowledge that homosexual relationships are part of the normal range of human behaviors.

The inability of same sex couples to have their own biological children is irrelevant to their ability to function as parents. Many opposite sex couples are just as unable to be biological parents. Moreover studies have shown that up to ten percent of children are fathered by men who are not the acknowledged partner of the mother.

As such I fully support the inclusion of the portrayal of same sex parents as part of showing children what they can expect to encounter in life. It is desperately needed to help counter the bigotry and intolerance demonstrated by some people.
"I would be more worried about confusing a child by telling them that about a talking snake, an apple and some supreme dude who made everything in 7 days."

....and the mystical fairy who dives under their pillow whilst they are sleeping to take their teeth in exchange for cash.
//I would be more worried about confusing a child by telling them that about a talking snake, an apple and some supreme dude who made everything in 7 days. //

//the mystical fairy who dives under their pillow whilst they are sleeping to take their teeth in exchange for cash. //

No comparison. Long before adulthood, they'll have been told the truth about the tooth fairy.
