Would this type of thing be beneficial to children as young as five, or only create confusion?

/// i think a few homophobic people are projecting their fears ///

Out comes yet another insult, these liberal-lefties are all so predictable, they cannot join in a reasonable debate without the need to use their standard insult words from their 'great big book of labelling'.
aog I was just trying to help people
by commenting and concluding on the evidence at hand
You have not been insulted. Go pick up your toys!!!
Says the guy who labels everyone who doesn't agree with him a "leftie". Standard book of labelling you are consulting?

methinks someone doth protest too much!
lol, how was that an insult???

Look at some the answers on this thread and you will quite clearly see what i mean

and is it not an insult to call me a liberal-leftie, indeed how do you even know who i support, politics wise?
You will feel a lot better after that nap aog.
Slightly off topic - saw John Barrowman on This Morning. He was telling how he and darling Scott had a little tiff! Scott asked why John hadn't proposed. John replied: ''Why haven't you proposed?''

So off they went to the register office and became man and man!

Perfect eh? But no talk of having children yet.
I am delighted when I am called a leftie, but liberal ?...that is completely beyond the pale !
/their standard insult words from their 'great big book of labelling'. /

aog

that just doesn't make any sense, sorry

1. it was a reasonable commentary on the debate using appropriate terms
2. it was not directed at any individuals

if 'the cap fits' for you, perhaps you would like to attempt a reasoned response to the idea you (or other posters) are 'phobic' about homosexuality

that might be better than throwing a hissy fit and using 'labels' yourself
"Shouild Same-Sex Parents Be Featured In School Books?" - I don't see why not, they are considered as parents.

But, then again it might be confusing to a 5 years old child when they see their friends parents as being male and female. It could get complicated.
Don't joke about sir.prize...Elton and Mrs John seemed to manage OK...they have two !
mikey - if I had been joking I would have put my comment in 'Jokes' category!
Perhaps a bit confusing for a child of 5.
I went to a CofE school and we were begining to learn of religion and the bible at 5. I would have been totally confused doing Adam and Eve one day and then "Adam and Steve" the next!

ummmm

/// Errrrrrrrrrm.....Heterosexual people have various partners and manage to bring up unconfused children. ///

If you believe that you will believe anything.

What could be more confusing to a child, to have brothers and sisters that have a different dads to themselves?

I have personally seen this happen, when different dads have turned up to take their child out, but have left their fellow siblings at home looking out of the window wondering why they can't also be taken out.
^
LOL

Yeah, the bit about Adam's partner being made from one of his ribs wasn't confusing at all!

Or who their children married...
Can't see any harm in it at all. Small children are very accepting and if they do ask why a person in a story has two Dads or two Mums then surely it's easy to explain that in some people do 'marry' someone of the same gender because they really love them. My experience of small children is they will just say 'Oh' and then go on to another topic of conversation.
Not everyone that starts a new relationship has a baby.
