Buenchico - I have some ashes here in a small box. They are the remains of my daughter's late, lamented cat Tommy. If England don't win would you accept these as a substitute?

the original Ashes are the ashes of English cricket (allegedly), which was pronounced dead after the Aussies beat them in 1880-something. Actually they were probably the ashes of the bails.

I don't know if a cat would be enough. Could you include the ashes of English football?
