Scottish Independence
What unbelievable scaremongering by that numpty Ed Milliband today when he suggested that if Scotland were independent a Scottish woman who becomes ill in Liverpool would not be treated because she was a foreigner. Would a French woman be treated, or a German woman or an English woman becoming ill in Glasgow? This is absolutely the deepest of the depths to which political spin can plumb. Which right thinking citizen could possibly be swayed by such arrant nonsense?

This idea of breaking the union is Alex Salmond vanity project, if he gets what he wants, it does not mean that you will be fully independent
Hi emmie,
I appreciate your support for the union but please consider what your position would be if the situation were reversed. Let us say that the parliament in Edinburgh, which you did not vote for, was controlling your services and ruling your financial outcomes. How would you feel? In Scotland for the most part we have a Government in London for which we did not vote and who control every bit of our public services. Do you think it is fair or democratic that a parliament in Westminster should determine the affairs of the people of Scotland. We have a completely different set of values when it comes to social policy and justice.
Why should we not have the power to make our own decisions on policies and priorities? Please forget the colonial attitude that England knows best.
For example do you really believe that Trident is a good idea?

Daisy, your comment felt more like a put down rather then an enquiry but the crux of the difference is that in Scotland we actually care for and value all citizens
equally and seek to provide a compassionate caring society where all members count and all members help. No individual is above another, no one is entitled to anything, everything is earned and deserved. I would love to spend more time explaining this philosophy but it is really getting late and I cannot be bothered.

He's not as dangerous as that fat slug Alec Salmond who so obviously hates Scotland and the Scots and wants to takes them back centuries and keep them there. I hope my fellow Scots ALL vote against this stupid , dangerous referendum. I am proud, VERY proud, to be Scottish BUT I want Scotland to be part of the future not to permanently live in the pastwhere bigotry, ignorance and hubris rule the roost. Time also for Salmond to go. He puts himself, not Scotland first.

Err, yeah.
You seem to have a tenuous grasp on reality, rich. You do realize you vote in Westminster elections, don't you? Anyway, I'll leave you for em to sort out. ;)

Donald **ump has more say over what happens in Scotland than Alex Salmond does, with Salmond latter rolling over faster than a footballer in the penalty area at the slightest whiff of cash.
Vicious rumour has it that the entire ****p empire is built on debt after debt (one sizeable bankruptcy in the past, escaping his creditors completely) with only the steady income streams keeping everything afloat. An interesting parallel with the likely political structure revolving around oil revenue... as long as that lasts.
