youngmafbog, it doesn't matter whether the letter was sent or not. The inference is that it was, but what matters is the content. Rebekah Brooks is declaring her love and saying how the two of them trust each other. Those are her thoughts, and they are telling when the jury come to consider any defence along the lines that she did not know what was going on and didn't have the faintest idea what he was up to.
